Hot Scottish highlander. Brave woman. This story has everything a romance novel needs. I'm very impressed with Jennifer Haymore new series. I really appreciated that the heroine was not the atypical shy weak woman. She was transformed to a hotblooded woman with a kind of her own. I truly feel like love with The hero he was incredibly sexy and strong yet gentle and tender when he needed to be . I highly recommend this book. I hope to read the next in this series.

Book Review: What the Duke Desires by Sabrina Jeffries

What the Duke Desires (The Duke's Men, #1)
Synoisis:

Maximilian Cale, the Duke of Lyons, long ago buried his grief for his missing elder brother, Peter, who was presumed dead after being kidnapped. When a mysterious note arrives from Tristan Bonnaud asserting that the Duke's brother is alive, it leads Max straight to the winsome Lisette Bonnaud, illegitimate daughter of a viscount and Tristan's sister. Soon he and Lisette are traveling to Paris posing as husband and wife, in search of Tristan, who has disappeared. And the longer he spends with Lisette, the easier it is for Max to see that the line between dukedom and desire is easier to cross than heimagined . . .

Review:

As always, Miss Jeffries give us lovable characters, funny and adventurous plots. This time she introduced us to Bonnaud family.

Lisette Bonnaud is the illegitimate daughter of Viscount Rathmoor and sister to Tristan and half sister to Dom. Lisette and her family lives is impacted and changed by the death of her father. Tristan flees from England as a result of stealing a horse from his half-brother George. Years later, after the death of Lisette's mother, her half-brother Dom opened a detective agency where Lisette acts as a secretary/file clerk. She dreams of being a detective which her brother Dom does not approve on. On the morning after Dom leave for Scotland, Lisette is visited by Maximilian Cale, the Duke of Lyons. Max was sent a mystery note from Tristan regarding his long lost brother. He is convinced that Tristan know where is  brother is or is hiding something. So begin Max and Lisette journey to find Tristan and Max's brother.

The chemistry with Max and Lisette is very sexy and hot. They are immediately drawn to one another. However, Max believe that his family is cursed with mental illness which he will become crazy (or as the brits call it mad.) So, Max tries to resist Lisette's charms. Many of the scene between Lisette and Max are comical, sexy and down right good.

I couldn't put this book down. At the end of the book, I wanted more of the Duke's men. I can't wait to read more about these character including Dom. Was it just me or were there spark flying with Jane and Dom?

Thank you, Sabrina Jeffries and Edelweis for the ARC.

Review on Lover be Mine by Nicole Jordan

Synosis:

The last thing Sophie Fortin expects at a masquerade ball is a dazzling kiss from a pirate. Her desire quickly falters when she learns that her masked gentleman is devilishly scandalous Lord Jack, a member of the captivating Wilde clan — and a man she’s forbidden to acknowledge. But when Jack begins a breathtaking seduction, Sophie can barely resist.

Jack never imagined that the daughter of his family’s mortal enemy would awaken such fierce passion within him—until one unforgettable kiss changes his mind forever. Soon, Jack is hell-bent on winning Sophie’s hand, going so far as to abduct her to save her from marrying a rival nobleman. Determined to woo Sophie and her unyielding parents, Jack is faced with the one decision he’d sworn never to make. The secret heir to a prince, Jack has spurned his royal heritage for years . . . but for Sophie he’ll risk all to turn a legacy of heartbreak into love ever after.

Review:

I was really excited about this book coming out. I really enjoy Nicole Jordan book since read her Notorious series.

This story is real Romeo and Juliet story line. Jack and Sophie families are enemies. They were raised not to acknowledge each other in public or private. However, when Jack’s cousin tell him that his Juliet can be found in Sophie, he set out to prove the he is no Romeo. But Jack didn’t expect for sparks to fly at their first encounter and for his attraction to be so strong. And Jack now must prove to Sophie that he is her Romeo.

Never be Mine has an interesting twist since Jack is the illegitimate child of a prince of a faraway country. Which could possibly help out these star-crossed lovers. Nicole Jordan always write fabulous story lines and captivating characters. If you are a lover of romance, adventure, and steamy love scene, this book is a must read. I can’t wait for Miss Jordan next book which I believe is Skye.

Thank you Edewelsis and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in advance.

Unbound (A Courtesan's Guide to Getting Your Man) by Susan Donovan, Celeste Bradley

Synosis:

London’s most celebrated courtesan, The Blackbird, was a woman before her time—uninhibited, financially independent, and free to live by her own rules. Schooled in the sensual arts by the one man she loved the most, she recorded every wicked detail in her diaries…

When Boston museum curator Piper Chase-Pierpont unearths The Blackbird’s steamy memoirs, she’s aroused and challenged by what she finds. Could the courtesan’s diaries  be used as a modern girl’s guide to finding love and empowerment? One curious curator—and one very lucky man—are about to find out…

Review:

OMG!! This book has been one of my favorite book of all time. I give it 5 stars.   Celeste and Susan did a great job in collaborating together.  At first, I did not like the jumps from contemporary to historical however, I feel it would be a disservice to not do these jumps in time. Ophelia and Piper story lines are parallel to each other.

I feel in love with Ophelia and Sir story line  I love the twist in the end of the book when we find out who Sir is... Piper story line is a great make-over story including clothing, makeup and soul make-over. Let's not get start on the sensual scene. They are hot!!!

These woman are very strong and beautiful and capture my attention from the first page. I couldn't stop reading. I actually wanted more of the story. It is strong, sexy, provocative and intriguing.  I would definitely recommend this book.

Book Review: Highlander Most Wanted by Maya Banks

Synopsis:

In Highlander Most Wanted, a reclusive woman content to live in the shadows shows a Highland warrior the true meaning of love.

Genevieve McInnes is locked behind the fortified walls of McHugh Keep, captive of a cruel laird who takes great pleasure in ruining her for any other man. Yet when Bowen Montgomery storms the gates on a mission of clan warfare, Genevieve finds that her spirit is bent but not broken. Still, her path toward freedom remains uncertain. Unable to bear the shame of returning to a family that believes her dead or to abandon others at the keep to an imposing new laird, Genevieve opts for the peaceful life of an abbess. But Bowen’s rugged sensuality stirs something deep inside her that longs to be awakened by his patient, gentle caress—something warm, wicked, and tempting.

Bowen seizes his enemy’s keep, unprepared for the brooding and reclusive woman who captures his heart. He’s enchanted by her fierce determination, her unusual beauty, and her quiet, unfailing strength. But wooing her will take more than a seasoned seducer’s skill. For loving Genevieve, he discovers, means giving her back the freedom that was stolen from her—even if it means losing her forever.

Review:

Again, Maya Bank is an incredible writer. She has the ability to make just endearing and genuine characters that we grow to love to read. This time she writes the story of Genevieve and Bowen. At first I was very apprehensive in reading this story. Genevieve is a very must broken character on the outside however; as the story progressed we could see that she actually a stronger character than most.

The scene between Bowen and Genevieve are so real and intense. However, I didn’t like the fact that Bowen didn’t go after Genevieve right away.  Beautiful ending :)

It’s a good read but has some flaws. I can’t wait to read Maya’s next book “Highland Ever After.” I want to thank Netgalley and Edelweiss for the opportunity to read this ARC book. Thank you so much!

Book Review: The Most Scandalous Proposal by Ashlyn Macnamara

Synosis:

After watching her beloved sister Sophia pine over the ton’s Golden Boy for years, Miss Julia St. Claire has foresworn love and put herself firmly on the shelf. Unfortunately, her social-climbing mother and debt-ridden father have other ideas, and jump at the chance to marry Julia off to the newly-named Earl of Clivesden…the man of Sophia’s dreams.

Since resigning his Cavalry commission, Benedict Revelstoke has spent his time in London avoiding the marriage mart. But when he discovers that the Earl of Clivesden has set Julia in his sights, Benedict tries to protect his childhood best friend from the man’s advances—only to discover more than friendship driving his desire to defend her. He surprises them both with the force of his feelings, but when she refuses him and her father announces her betrothal, he fears he’s lost her forever—until Julia approaches him with a shocking scheme that will ruin her for all respectable society…

…and lead them into an exquisite world of forbidden pleasures.

Review:

The Most Scandalous proposal is homage of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility. Sense and Sensibility with more sex. The book starts a little slow for me. Benedict is very confusing. We never are aware that he was yearning for Julia until after their encounter in the St. Claire’s office. The author doesn’t reveal how Benedict is in the know about Clivesden interests of Julia.  However, I love Sophie and Highgate. I wished there are more of their storyline. The carriage scene are steaming!! Over all Ashlyn Macnamara wrote very funny, sexy and must read book. If you haven’t read it. You definitely must do so. J

Never Seduced a Scot by Maya Banks

Maya Banks, She is great. Totally loveable in person. I believe I like her historical novel better than her erotica novel. Never Seduced a Scot!!

I really recommend this book if one your love scotmen and two if you love scotmen. LOL. Banks' character are so tender and endearing. The story take place in Scotland, there is a feud between the Armstrongs and Montgomery. The king decides that this feud has gone long enough order Graeme Montgomery to marry Eveline Armstrong. However, Eveline is "touched" in other words mentally challenged (deaf) after an accident. But no one know that Eveline actually is aware of her surrounds and can read lips. Eveline is automatically attractive to her husband Graeme. Eventually, Graeme find out that Eveline can speak and they start to have a normal marriage however, Eveline's former fiancee come back to the picture.

Ms. Banks is an expert in writing engaging character that anyone can fall in love with. This story is part of a new series called Armstrong and  Montgomery. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. :p I want to thank Edelweiss for the opportunity to read this in advance. Thank you so much!!
